Personal background
I'm a happily seperated guy, I'm in my low 40's (as the weathermen would say) and have 3 great boys. I work for a major airline as a baggage handler and enjoy my work. I also like my computer time and have built my last 2 myself. I spend alot of time on the net and on the computer in general (playing games and such). I live in Texas.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think extraterrestrial life exists, this universe is way to big to have only one place with intelligent life forms. I'd really like to see them discovered in my lifetime but I'm not really positive that's going to happen, I don't think enough is being done to see if they are actually out there.

I have run Seti@home for almost 3 years and really enjoyed using my extra processor time for something like this. At first it was just a really neat screensaver for me....then I got wise and just let it run all the time in the background. I have a DSL connection so it sends and recieves work units as needed. I don't even think about it much, and it is really unobtrusive on the computer. I'm glad to be helping with this cause because I have to do almost nothing to get a possible big return for my minimal investment. I really hope Berkeley and the Seti people get this work unit sending/recieving situation rectified in the very near future.
