I am from New Zealand, which is where I currently live. I have also lived in the Philippines, where I did development-related work for 5 or so years, in the fields of biodiversity conservation, sustainable development policy advocacy, and agrarian reform. I have also lived in India and Pakistan recently. I have an interest in the life of Abdul Ghaffar Khan, a nonviolent Muslim who fought against British imperialism last century.
I would rather be an atmanaut than an astronaut, but it's hard work. Confused? Atman is a sanskrit term for Self. You can read more about that in a good translation of a text like the Bhagavad Gita. | Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I hope humankind will last long enough to find sources of extraterrestrial life, should they exist. I also hope we will keep our planet in good condition, so as not to be ashamed of what we have to offer should we make contact one of these days.
I run SETI@home because I think it is good science and a worthy goal. |
