Personal background
I'm 47 and live in Caracas, Venezuela. I work as a Computing Consultant for people who owns a Mac and run into troubles or have doubts or inquires about something about.
My hobbie is Technology in subjects like audio, video, latest advances. I'm a R&R musician also.
My passion for the universe and it's misterys came from an inusual experience that I had in my 20's. One beautiful night, at about 8 o'clock, I was at the door of one of my friends waiting for him when i saw an astonishing fenomena. There was a perfect formation in "V" of about six to eight lighting objects in the sky moving from east to west. The main thing was that I had the opportunity of scream where I was, in the street, and many neighbors saw them too because I saw the objects since they appeared from one side of the sky to the another, so I had plenty of time for the people to saw the fenomena too (yeah, I was not alone with it...).
The next day I remember the headlines and the reports of the Control Tower of the Maiquetia International Airport about the sightings.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.- Yes, I think so. I also think that when the humanity reach it's evolution next step, free of wars, misunderstandings, and other things that prevents us to think straight, we'll be more capables to asimilate the huge amount of information that will let us know and communicate with them.

2.- Yes, I agree with that. We should send a "hello" and our flat profile maybe...

3.- I run SETI because of my inner passion. The project would be the most important thing for the humanity in the event of a definitively contact.
My suggestion is to go forward and forward with it...
