Profile: Eize Oosting

Personal background
Hi, my name is Eize, I'm a 37 year old guy living somewhere in the midst of Holland (Europe, not Michigan ;-) ). I work as freelancer either as computer engineer, consultant or manager, depending on the position of the stars I guess ;-) No, it depends of course on what lies ahead.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The first time I learned about the SET@Home project I immedeately joined it. The stars have always paid my attention, and I am of course very curious to figure out whether there is any extratessestrial life in space. In that light I am very fond to know that another account of mine has processed two of the signal candidates. Despite chances are very very very very low of course, there is a slight hope in me that a discovery will come out of one of those ;-)
And what if we find it? Will they be hostile? I suspect not. We have such a short civilication over here and we start to think finally that war is bad. Any radio-wave using extraterrestrial lifeform is unlikely to have the same short civilication as we do, so I hope they're smart by now. In any case, they are far far far away from us, so we can not do them to much damage ;-)
