Answers to question #1: I think there is a possibility that life other than our own does exsist. We could discover it 5 minutes from now or, 1000 years from now. Benifits could include any number of things.... Cures to diseases, advanced technology, etc. On the other hand....They could come here and kick our butts, that would be bad.
Answers to question #2: I think we should... The benifits are too great not to at least try.
Answers to question #3: Why do I run it... Personal acomplishment mostly. I believe in the project....it's like playing the lottery, if you don't play, you'll never win. Suggestions.. Lets see. I wish I coud run multiple instancs of the program. Would be nice if I could devote more of the processing power to the program when I am not using the machine. As it is right now I devote about 33%(?), with no way to increase that. I know thats a complex problem.. |
