Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
While I have always looked up since I was very young, Carl Sagan made sense out of technical jargon. SETI while some consider it a waste of time and money, it sure beats some of the things that money is wasted on nowadays. It gives us hope that one day we may find a mutual friend somewhere that will be able to help us with advanced diseases, technology and a lasting peace on Earth. As for the program? I think a lot of the addons and ways to implement them lack decent help pages. Some links are dead at last check. Maybe make SETI@home allow multiple instances and better user interface and help file. A way to process more than one WU at a time when the processor is not being used and automatically suspending all but one WU when processor activity continues. |
