Personal background
I am a CS and Theatre major originally from Univ. of Alaska Fairbanks, now studying at Eastern Washington University. I started running Seti while in charge of a small NT network, and now run them on my home network exclusively. Im 25, a full-time student, and avidly looking for employment in the computer industry to build up experience for when I graduate. I have experience in Cold fusion, C/ , HTML, Pascal, SQL, and others.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Setiathome is a great opportunity. After long tthinking they were on the fringe of acceptability Seti workers can now realize that they do have widespread public support, and that people are indeed curious. The hypocritical skepticism of the scientific community can be ignored at last. Its also a good compliment to optical Seti, since this kind of project has a better chance of finding signals like those that we are producing, instead of just a purposeful transmission.
