I am 53 and work with computers for a living as an IT manager. I go camping, rafting, travel a little.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes I think there is both Intelligent and "other" life out there. I do not think that any beings have visited us here on Earth.
2. I do not think we should transmit a beacon for others to find us. I think we should only transmit a beacon when we can settle our problems here and learn to stop killing each other. I feel we have very little to offer other civilizations at this point.
3. I want to find any life that may be out there.
A)We need to build a better Hubble telescope, one that can "see" planets of other star systems.
B)We need to focus the search aimed at the top earth size) 1,000 Planets out there instead of scanning with a "fishing net" type search.
