Personal background

Let's see...I turned 30 this year. How exciting. *sigh* I live in Indianapolis, IN, but I'm originally from Columbus, IN. I work at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) and also attend classes there. I'm working toward a degree in Computer & Information Technology.

I'm a total computer geek. There are 4 working computers in my home, plus several that work but aren't hooked up stashed all over the house. I'm a
Mac guy all the way. My primary computer is a G5 Power Mac, but my laptop is Windows. *UGH* I'm into gay rights activism. I'm the president of Indiana Action Network, a gay rights organization here in Indiana. I'm also co-owner of bilerico.com, a blog about a variety of topics relevant to the gay community in Indiana.

I have a partner, Bil and a daughter, Paige. We have two dogs, Fritz and Frieda and a cat, Rikki.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I love SETI@home. I'm such a huge science geek. I want to be the one that processes the result that finds the first ET.

I think the new Boinc system will be good once it's more user friendly. The Mac version still sucks horribly. The addition of the new menu bar Mac client is a very, very welcome addition. I think the performance on both versions is rather slow.
