Why do you run SETI@home?
I run SETI@Home because I want to find other civilizations. My one hope is that they have a cure for some of our diseases and other health problems that we can't defeat.
Thoughts about ETI
I believe that aliens could exist. If they are out there, I assume they would either want to be found or be xenophobic. The danger is the possibility that they are some warrior race who want to take over everything they find. I think it is a good idea to transmit our signal for others to find, but the problem is that the wrong people might find it.
