Profile: Cydonian

Personal background
Hi there earthling...

I am a full time tech and space freak. Everything about technology, space, planets, time, dimensions and so on have always intrigued me. I came up with "Cydonian" because of the "Cydonia"-region on Mars (the "pyramids" and "the face" (http://www.msss.com/education/facepage/face.html)) of Mars.

I guess that like most people around here I wanted to be an astronaut or at least a pilot, and as for most people who had that dream it was not meant to be….
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
As far as ET's are concerned, to me it is unimaginable that there would not be life out there, and I believe that the odds are pretty good for it to even be intelligent. Explorers found life in places of which they were quite convinced life could not exist there, and when you think of all those galaxies, stars and planets…. Yope, there's life out there alright.

It is wise to ask if we should be trying to contact "others" since no-one knows what it would start. Then again, curiosity and some fear is exactly what has always driven humans to explore and expand and that has brought us were we are today. Do you want to go back to the stone-ages? I guess we can stick or head in the sand, but I prefer not to. We have been sending out A LOT of signals without having the intention of doing so (Radio, TV, nuclear explosions, ...). These signals may also help intelligent life to find us, we would then also be faced with it. So why not be prepared and expecting? I say send the beacon, it's too late to hide if we wanted to.

Since I do not expect to get into a spacecraft soon, chances of exploring space are not very big don't you think? Fortunately SETI@HOME provided me with an alternative and here I am, exploring space!

That's it, thank you for your attention and;… good hunting!
