Personal background
Undergraduate student at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I am currently studying to become an Elementary Teacher and hopefully grab a Computer Science minor or major depending on how money goes. I started running seti in hopes of finding something and giving my CPU something to do when i am not around. I am currently running an AMD athlon at 750 mhz with 256 meg's of ram. My biggest intrest in life is NHRA drag racing at my local track and traveling to some tracks around the country with my friends race team that i work for during the weekends. laterzzzz and happy alien tracking.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I hope SETI discovers the program because obviously the government isn't going to aspire to tell us anything about whats going up there. The only danger that I can see proposed by finding alien life outisde of earth would be that Humans like to try to fight with everything wether it be nature, new ideas, or other Humans. So my largest would remain that washington or another foriegn government would anger them before "the enlightned folks" get there due chance of extending the hand of science and working things out.

I don't know if transmitting anymore information than we already have been for the last fifty or so manty odd years is probably more than we should.

I run SETI because i like that it doesn't require much power to operate with the CPU and that millions of people can use it.
