Personal background
I retired from the State of California and live in Washington. I would love to find a 'WOW' and prove we're not alone in this universe. If life "happened" here it could "happen" on another wet world and since the odds favor billions of those being out there, why not?
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I feel like I was born at just the right time. It seems that so many important things have happened in my lifetime - first space flight, first man on the moon, first exploration of Mars....I'm hoping I live long enough to realize the FIRST CONTACT with an extra terrestrial intelligence. If you go with the "Big Bang" theory, you'd realize that every particle of the universe came from the same source. That means Earth's elements must be the same as any/every other planet's in the universe. Maybe in different ratios, but the same regardless. So, why NOT life on other planets??? We survive against the odds - imagine that we breathe the same caustic substance (oxygen) that eats metal - so I believe there's got to be other life out there that had an easier (and earlier) beginning than we did. Good luck to us all in our search for that phone call from ET.
