Personal background
Hi There!
I'm a 17 year old boy from the northern part of Germany. I'm a big fan of Star Trek, play a lot of computer-games, tennis and basketball.
While I'm still a pupil, I'm very engaged in the local Red Cross-Organisation as a member of the Youth-Red-Cross and the "Sanitätszug". The last word means a part of our organisation, which is alerted if i.e. a plane crashes or many cars are involved in a major accident. That kind of work...
I really don't know what to write now....that has to be enough.
Please excuse any mistakes you find. My english is not very good.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.) Yes, of course! There are so many planets in the universe, that there will be a lot of planets, which are similar to our earth. I think, the mankind is not prepared yet. May be in twenty or thirty years, a kind of starship will appear and we have the "First Contact" [properbly with Vulcans? *g*]. For me the only danger is the fact, that the humans might fear the extraterrestrians and going to kill them (or even try it).
2.) No! I don't think that it's necessary. In my opinion the 'aliens' will find/visit us.
3.) Cause I hope, that there is intelligent life, which is not so stupid like we are (see my answer for point two; first two sentences!). It's great, that there is a project like this, because now we have the chance to become aware of the life and the phantastic possibilitys in our universe.
