| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1. Yes, although Where? and maybe more importantly When? Conspiracy Theorists suggest that we already have. I don't know about the possible benefits and dangers... these could be so wide ranging, anything from total enlightenment for the Human Race to total extinction. I hope for the enlightenment scenario.
2. If there are intelligent races within a hundred light years from us, they may have already heard our signals. Perhaps we should consider how alien signals would be treated by us before we consider what signals to send out.
3. I like to think I'm part of a global team working towards a project which may help unify us all. The SETI project is a living example of man's inherent curiosity of the universe in which he resides.
4. If an alien is reading this... can we have our cows back please! |
