Personal:
26 years old, raised and still living in Innsbruck, Austria. Currently I'm working for the computer centre of the university of Innsbruck and studying informatics and business administration. When I've still left some spare time, I'm producing sound (at least trying ;) ), style psychedelic trance, also called goa trance.
Of course my hobbies are computers (Amiga still rules, hehe), but having fun at parties, travelling around, meeting interesting people, doing meditation and searching for spiritual mysteries are very important things in my life, too.
Certainly, I believe there could be more out there in the universe than us humans, so let's at least try to search for them!
Using the united power of some G4s and PIIIs I'll do my best to search for ETI, so may the CPU's remain cooking at 100% for a long time to go.... :) |

Why do I run SETI@home?
I think it's a great idea to use the computers CPU 'do-nothing'-time as a Screensaver (using the shard computing calculation model) and to search for ETI out there.
Who really knows if there is extraterrestrial life out there? Of course everyone wants to know about it, but now we've got the chance to find it out! And for now, with mankind's todays technical possibilities it's IMHO the best way to search for alien activities. And we might be successful!
Should man really discover ET out there, so what's the next step for us to do? Answer: Show mankind's best sides: Inquisitiveness, tolerance, hospitableness and friendship.
Which better way we could go else to make new friends?!
