Profile: Patric Kees

Personal background
I'm a journalist in the eastern part of Switzerland, a movie collector and I loooooove good science fiction. I also like to get to the bottom of things, but at the same time I have hopefully kept an open mind. One of my key experiences in life was in the early Eighties, when I watched Carl Sagans wonderful TV-series COSMOS (Unser Kosmos). This had a tremendous influence on me and has stayed in my mind ever since.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
If we really WERE alone, what a complete waste of space that would be... But it still won't be easy to find the proof for extra-terrestrial (intelligent) life. In an infinite Universe there will be an infinite range of lifeforms with ways of communication we cannot hope to understand. And IF we use similar techniques of communications, it will be a question of listening at the right spot at the right time. So, is it worth it? YES, YES and definitely YES!
