I do think extraterrestrial life exists. I think it is arrogant to think we are the only intelligent beings in the universe. Hopefully they are more intelligent than we are, judging recent world events.
I would not be able to judge any benefits or dangers from our meeting, there are too many unknowns, hopefully they aren't as aggressive and stupid as we are!
A beacon could be a dangerous thing, if it happens, don't transmit eminem (I don't know how to spell that!)
I run seti at home because I use a screensaver for security on my computer, it may as well achieve something else as well.
I think it is a great project for both social and computer science reasons! |
