Personal background
(that's me on the right in the picture) Hi I'm a Canadian College grad, in animation. I have two dogs, and love the Outdoors. I have a profound respect for all life forms, weither it be dogs ,cats , snakes, beetles, I believe we should all share our tiny world equally among species. As it is , humans are taking way to much room on this planet, endangering the rest of the other living things habitat, to the point where they can no longer function in a natural way. So why do we do it than? ... the answer is not a simple one, but, I think greed, has a lot to do with it, the tendency of certain humans to want to convert everything they lay there hands on, into "Cash", cold cash...nothing more, for their own immediate profit at the expense of other living species. It is absolute short term thinking, definitely not sustainable for any long period of time, a behavior that border's derision, complete folly, and a sure way to wipe out all life right off this planet, all life, including ourselves.
In this new era of globalisation, it seem's to me that all the politicians, by choice or by force, are compelled to follow the guidelines of the O.C.D.E. the international commerce governing body, to make sure they keep "their" population under control, to better manage the resources again in the name of immediate profit and more cash for fewer and fewer selected individuals part of the "Elite". We have seen the trend all too clearly, SEATLE, and QUEBEC SUMMIT, to name a couple. The clash beetween the "HAVE and the HAVE NOT". TO me it is more the confrontation beetween the Intelligent and responsable people of this planet against the Unintelligent greed driven short term thinking irresponsable "elite".
You see I don't own my two dogs, they own themselves, they are quite happy with their lives. I know, I set them free they always come back. If they were not , they wouldn't, would they?. I'm free, their free. Simple.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes of course I do believe in extra-terrestrial life, one look at the sky up north at the summer cottage under the ink black tapestry of the cosmos, suffice to convince me. To think that there are others looking at us in the same way that I look at "them" is a humbling sensation. The cosmos must be filled with all kinds of different species, all unaware of the other's. When I look at my dogs, sometimes they too look alien, yet there 's this sense of bonding and attachement, and this feeling of wanting to please each other in every way, the pursuit of Happiness, the sole purpose of our short stay here on this planet. I also believe the same for Aliens. They too want happiness. Simple happiness. If they come here they will find it. They will also find sadness on our world, if they choose to come. It is up to US to decided what they will find here, we should'nt count on them to bring it. Like my two dogs bring me happiness everyday, it is because only the reflection of what I give them. .... It's called sharing.. something the human species have to learn more of it....that's all.
