1. Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
Yes, within the next 20 years. If we have the ability to detect a 2km asteroid aimed at Earth (2002 NT7), then we can detect alien life by then (about 17 years).
2. Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?
We already did! Though that one was way to confusing. Ony 2 people understand any of that, the person who wrote it and some fool with too much time on their hands. Send a constant signal with instructions to our planet. Why? Because this is not Independance Day, Starship Troopers, or any other 'Aliens-will kill-us-all' sci-fi flicks.
3. Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?
Yes, on 2 computers. A P4 Mobile 1.6GHz, and a P4 1.7GHz desktop, both running Windows XP. The project as awesome! I think that after all the CPU time dedicated to this (over a million years), we are bound to find at lease something. Suggestions? Join SETI Synergy at www.setisynergy.com! |
