Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1 - Yes. It would be very arrogant to assume that we're the only intelligent life that evolved in a universe of billions of star systems.
2. Complicated. Just because life exists doesn't make it friendly! Independence day, though a bit crap does make a very pertinent point.
3. For the chance to be the person who's computer finds 'that' signal! I think the project is a brilliant use of resources and very innovative.
