Profile: Carl Anthony

Personal background
36 year old (July 25, 1967) Electrical Engineer at HP-Houston (formerly Compaq). Grew up in El Paso TX. Moved to Houston and got my EE here, then started working, and I'm still here. The Desert sky in El Paso is extremely clear, and you can see the stars very well. I used to visit Sunspot in New Mexico regularily when I was a kid, and went to White sand missile range a few times and visited the space museum where they had a Titan class rocket.

I learned about this about 1999, and have been signed up since.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
ABSOLUTELY ET EXISTS. People would argue that our existence is highly unlikely, and that pure circumstance allowed us to be here, but it's a BIG universe. They are definately out there. The question about whether or not to transmit a beacon is moot, since we have been sending signals since we discovered radio. Running my SETI@home setup it a great way to do my little part and have a cool screensaver at the same time. Plus it's a conversation starter... :-) .
