Personal background
I am 25 years old and have been in the Royal Australian Navy for 7 years. I live in Darwin, Australia and love the warm weather although I don't get outdoors as much as I should.

I play indoor cricket and love a round of golf every now and then.

My interest in computers goes back to when I was 8 and my Dad bought home our first home computer. An old IBM XT. Too cool for words they were.

Never been much of a gamer, but do appreciate a good FPS.

That's about it I suppose.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've spent many nights at sea gazing up at the stars wondering if there is life amongst them. It is a big universe and I guess it would be narrow minded and self centered to think we are it so I reckon there is intelligent life out there.

Dangers of discovery, no dangers. that life would exist whether we discover it or not but if it comes knocking on our front door then that is something else to consider.

Sure, we should set up a beacon for others to find, what we put on it, ????

I run SETI@home for lots of reasons, but mostly because it appeals to my inquisitive nature. I think the project is a fantastic one.
