Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) I do believe extraterrestrial life exists. I also believe the humans will discover it by chance, may be due to this project, may be through a similar project in such distant world. I am not sure about the benefits and dangers of such a discovery but I believe it is valuable to do the effort. This event could be compared to America’s discovery by Cristóbal Colón or another historical moments when two different cultures met. If we can extrapolate these situations, the more advanced will conquer and eventually absorb culturally (or destroy…?) the less one.

2) I agree with the idea of transmitting some kind of transmission that can pinpoint our existence in the vast universe. The information should be very simple, I am not and expert but I believe that the information included in “The Golden Record” of both Voyager spaceships will be OK (see http://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/fastfacts.html).

3) I have heard from the project and I got a detailed information about it in a National Geographic film last Saturday. I was caught by the idea of participating in it and so, here I am. I would like to see a Spanish version of the site and software, in order more primary and secondary schools here can participate in the project.
