Hi! I'm 36. I'm from Minsk—the capital of the Republic of Belarus (a lost country between Poland and Russia, Lithuania and Ukraine. Belarus is the last country in Europe with a dictatorial regime. I do hope one day Belarus will awake and the Belarusian will rediscover themselves and get the right TO BE CALLED PEOPLE ).
I'm married, we have had 2 baby boys for my time of the Search :). I have 6 computers at work to run for the Search 8—12 hours a day and 1 PC at home. Not too many but still. Just sorry that I found time only 4 years ago to set the Search at work having done that at home only and occasionally. From December 28, 2004 the Search is done at home again! :).
My favorite books: ‘A Brief History of Time’ by Stephen Hawking, ‘Discovery of the Universe—Past, Present, Future’ by Alexander S. Potupa.
My favorite authors: the Strugatsky brothers , Arthur C. Clarke, Carl Sagan, Kurt Vonnegut.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
THE CONTACT PERSPECTIVE is a rare, if not the only, possibility to formulate a common goal for the Mankind. Survival in the conditions of constantly growing material welfare cannot form a consolidated goal in itself. The level of material welfare is differently considered by different social and cultural groups, what is worse the cultivated currently idea of ever lasting consumption does not introduce new scales of consciousness, scope and space. It prevents us from looking farther ahead. That is why I am positive that there is no future in a world like ours without working on major Universal Scientific Projects of a large-scale scheme. The SETI Project could be one of those that would help discover the true Universe for everyone. For example, International Contact related projects could help defense establishments evolve to the mankind's ‘AutoEvolution Program’ to work on. I would call that the true Application for the Space Club Membership. We are all made of star dust and the Earth is mere a starting point we will have to leave. (There is a lyrical cosmic pattern that Man became the Man when he unbent and saw the stars. I guess the other half of the truth he admired the elegance of shapes of his club before :).
For the first time in our history we will have to appreciate ourselves as an intermediate minor link, from the moment of the Big Bang, between the primitive living matter and the creatures—really thinking matter :)—which are making their very first steps now and bearing indistinct flashback of our future. Unfortunately, I have no illusions about the ideal side of the Universal Membership process. There will be looks among the other ones cast to the future full of nightmarish intentions, hatred and black jealousy, and the progress would be directed backward or to the unthinkable destruction. However painful, but successfully undergoing through it is this process that will form new Universal consciousness i.e. Scientific Consciousness, new community of human beings which will have to rediscover itself in the Universe.
