Profile: Xbox-Clan

Personal background
I live in New Jersey and work as a Veterinarian Technician, design web sites, and do video game mapping design. I also do media work, which I add to my web sites in conjuction with other people in our group.

I started the Xbox Box Clan Network, a united group of players from all around the world. We hope to bring players of Microsofts new gaming console together to enjoy fun gaming with many ethnic groups.

I once ran Seti@home 5 years ago, and have decided to return to it after seeing first hand how SETI members work hard to scan the skies. I see too often the negitive feedback hey recieve, and the lack of funding.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do I think we are alone in the universe? The only intelligent beings in this endless Universe? Thinking we are would be short sited, and not logical. Many humans often try to involve religion in the idea of alien races. Yet what says that mankind does no involve many worlds. A superior being wouldn't limit itself to creating one race, one planet, and making the remaining ones empty.

Do I believe it is possible to contact an alien race? Wll contact direct as in a phone call, no. Not with our current technology. Concidering how far it is to he nearest star, and the distance to a possible inhabited planet, we wouldn't be able to have real time, or logical communication. Until we are able to send transmitions many times he speed of light, we won't be able to do this. However the odds that we will recieve a signal, radio wave,or similar signal that was poduced by a race of beings, isn't out of our reach. Concidering that there is most likly beings that were alive before us, who have sent simliar radio waves bouncing out in space, and they are traveling towards us, we will eventually recieve or hear them. Also our radio waves will eventually reach them.

Space travel is another story. If we are to venture out in space, we most produce thrust and acceleration to reach the speed of light or faster. either this is in theory like wap drive or spacial folding, only research will get us there. We barly understand space, so much research is needed. One day we will reach our goals.

Seti is one step to developing as a human race, and finding life out there. If we set around doign nothing, we will be alone. If we keep tryign and developing new technology, we will grow and stimulate the growth of other technologies. Either way it isn't a waste. Seti must go forward.
