Personal background
I'm 40 years old and from Malmö in Sweden. I work for an IT-company and we build financial systems. I don't program myself (at least not very well) but I manage to work quite a lot despite this.

Hobbies, I don't quite know if my work is my work and my family my hobby or if it's the other way around.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Although I'm quite a Star Trek fan I must admit that the kind of universe portrayed there doesn't seem likely.

I think life is quite common throughout the universe at least sometime during the history of a lot of planets. The problem is that although this is the case, for us to find that life it has to be reasonably close, intelligent and exist at a time when we happen to be watching for it.

This is of course not impossible but it will at least be rare. That, however shouldn't stop us from searching. I'm sure we will find something eventually. What, I don't know but I think it's unlikely to be Mr Spock.
