I'm a 32-year-old software professional from Germany. I live and work near Munich (but I don't like beer and have no 'lederhosen' :-)).
In my (rare) spare time I sing in a choir (classical music from Bach to modern composers), I read a lot and sometimes I even work with my computer for fun. I like learning about other countries and cultures a lot. Many books I read are about an aspect of another culture or about the particularities of a country (I especially like Bill Bryson).

I think there must be some form of life out there. I just can't imagine that we are the only 'accident' in such a gigantic universe. And I don't think this belief is contrary to Christianity; certainly, the authors of the Bible were not able to imagine such a huge context we actually live in (it is hard for *us* to imagine how large the Universe is, over 2000 years later).
I was fascinated by the SETI idea from the first moment I heard about it, and installed the client immediately. I can only give a fractional contribution, but if really many people get together and do this, we have the chance to achieve something. If only people in the whole world could work together like this on other and certainly more important things such as global warming and environmental pollution... |
