Personal background
I am 22 years old and I live in Athens (Greece). I am a senior at the University of Athens Department of Physics. At the same time I am a classical pianist and a composer, performing very often in public my works. I live in Greece, which is the most beautiful country in the whole world. As the most of you already know, my town - Athens - is going to organise the Olympic Games of 2004. So be there to celebrate humanity !!!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
As a physicist I believe that exists extraterrestrial life. There is the famous Drake's Equation, which depicts the possibility of extraterrestrial life existence. So from a scientifical point of view YES I believe in the extraterrestrial life existence.

The possible benefit of such a discovery will be that we will find some kind of company in the universe. This fact will be a total change to our history. Maybe if the civilization we discover is more technologically advanced than we are, then we may learn how the universe "functions", about the black material and the black holes ! !

On the other hand should human try also to communicate with other civilizations, in order others to be able to find us. Our message would be encoded to the only universal lanquage : MATHEMATICS. A signal with e.g. prime numbers will be easily recognised by a civilized "receiver".

I have joined SETI because I believe in this scientific research. I don't expect of course to discover little green ETs, but the existence of an extraterrestrial civilized life will be a reconfimation to my scientifical believes.
