Personal background
I am the CTO of ISS Group. We specialize in SCM, CRM and ERP systems integration. We resell and impelment MS CRM, and offer eBusiness and Supply-Chain systems for QAD's MFG/PRO.

There are several other people in our organization that participate in SETI, but I have for machines on my own network running the SETI tools.

I am part of the Progress Email Group team (PEG) along with some 50 other people.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Of course extraterrestial life exists, but it is unlikely that I will ever live to see it exist. And if it does, it's probably more likely that someone (or something) else will find us. And while there is high potential for danger in such a discovery, it is also likely that we will be ignored until such time as either:
a) We represent some huge profit potential for some traders, or
b) We merge into one reliable, manageable political unit without our current potential for violence and xenophobia.

I run the SETI tools because I think that this is a noble experiment at several levels, and even if nothing is ever found, the collaborative capabilities coming out of these developments can have huge benefits for mankind.
