I don't really know, isn't this the reason why we trying to find out with this project. Although there are numerous space bodies out there, they all seem to be too hostile an environment to support life as we know it. Perhaps, even if we found it, we may not recognise it. After all we still cannot define life.
On the other hand, we should not be too fearful about hostile ET lifeform. At the rate we are going, we probably succeed in killing ourselves without any outside help. |
