Personal background
Hi, my name is Antonio, I’m from Italy and I live in a small village near Milan. I’m 26 years old and I discovered SETI thanks to a friend of mine. I think that it’s a very good idea and I really hope to find something or someone soon. I’m attending my last three exams at the Politecnico of Milan to graduate in Electronic Engineering. I also have a great passion in wine and I’m a member of the ONAV (Organizzazione Nazionale Assaggiatori di Vino), that is an organization of taster of wine. But the most important thing is that I’m the founder of o group called “I Captonauti”, together with my two best friends. This group want to became the most important SETI group in the world!
Waiting for some agreement and waiting for E.T., I’d like to say good hunting to everybody!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1)Yes, I’m sure that a sort of E.T. really exists but I also think that space is so big that every possible contact with someone is very improbable. Einstein said that there’s a limit in speed (Light Speed) and he postulated that c (Light Speed) is a constant in the Universe. So, if you just think about the distance between the stars, or between two galaxy, you can understand that every travel will be too long for everyone, independent of their technology. But hope is the last to die!
2)Sending information in the space is a very good idea because we don’t know when but there’s a finite probability that someone find our message.
3)I use SETI because I think that is a good project and because search and hope not to be alone in the universe is part of all of us!
