Hi everyone, I live in Corvallis, Oregon, USA. Originally from Cork City on the southern coast of Ireland and I'm 44 years old. My interests include computers, movies, music, sci-fi. I'm a huge Tolkien fan, the Lord Of The Rings movies are probably my favorite movies of all time. I also like Babylon 5 and Star Trek.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have to say that I think SETI@home is a remarkable project in my opinion. I don't think there's ever been such a gathering of people from all walks of life and from all over our planet like this before. All of us working together for a common goal. Maybe the UN should buy everyone a computer and tell them about SETI...LOL.
I like to think that there is life in the universe apart from ourselves, in fact I can't really see why there wouldn't be. In my opinion the question is not whether there's life out there, but whether we'll find it or not. With the universe being so vast there could be millions of other life forms out there but it'll take a bit of luck to find just one of them. But I'll say this , it'll be the most interesting day in human history when we do. Personally I'll throw a big party and all of you guys will be invited, well that's if I'm not ninety at the time.
Well that's about it from me, so lets keep up the good work and hopefully we'll have that party some day. Best of luck to everyone for the future!!!
