Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
YES 100%, I believe in life other than us out there..it doesn't make sense to have all that space for JUST US, How will we discover it? By Accident maybe, I don't know, When? I don't know, the benefits of such a discovery I think will present itself in the fact that humans will no longer feel so alone, which in turn will make us less insecure about ourselves. I think the discovery of life beyond will finally make human kind stray from the idea of religion and take the possibilities that present themselves in science into more serious consideration. I also think that human kind would learn from a more advanced society, allowing us to use their ideas and concepts to better ourselves.

Yes, Earth SHOULD send a beacon, the discovery of new life is like a lottery...and you can't win unless you play. Info to send? History, Geography, and Human Culture.

I run SETI@HOME because I believe truly in life beyond, and I think KNOWING there is someone else out there is an important first step toward learning more about ourselves, the world we live in, and the world all around us.
