Personal background
Hi there...

Whizzy here, reporting for duty. I am 30 years old and reside in NW England. Aparently there are worse places to live, but I can't seem to think of any...

Hobbies include scuba diving, motorcycling (Kawasaki GPZ-500S), etc. If it's dangerous then I'll have a go... Do a bit of IT type stuff in my spare time. CompTIA member and currently working towards my Security+ certification.

At work, I'm a Validation Manager (don't ask), Network Administrator (hurrah!), Service Engineer (can't escape that one!), and general problem solver.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
As far as SETI is concerned, I find it amazing that such projects are possible. Extra-terrestrial life is a non-starter... But you've got to laugh... It's fun just looking! As a distributed computing exercise, the data being examined is ideal - there's no shortage of data (despite bandwidth problems!!!). SETI has paved the way for far more important distributed computing studies, such as climate prediction.

Must remember to get some more shares in PowerGen!!!
