| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Oh, they're out there; they made the mistake of snooping around a bit whilst we were putting together some technology that might be able to detect them; but they've wised up now, and we've become off-limits until we have the conciousness breakthrough, or wipe ourselves out, whichever comes first. Prime directive and all that.
If we transmit a beacon, it should be a warning.
I run SETI@home because I think it's cool to be part of a much much larger project; and the thought of wasted computer cycles always bothered me since I first saw a wait light on a PDP-11/10. |
