Personal background
I'm a Chemical Engineer that moved up the business ladder.
My web site mentions SETI.
Contact me at tom@tctms.com.

I've been asked by a number of you to join a group, but I'm content plunking along with my network of home PCs. Notice my high average time per work unit
on my user stats. But I'm OK with that. Some day we'll obtain faster machines and pump out more results.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Of course I think ET exists. Otherwise, why do this? But we are not ready.

When we have what the Miss America girls want ("world peace"), then we will be ready. Today there is too much intolerance of others' beliefs.

We shouldn't send out more information than we already have, because our taxes are too high.

I think it would be cool if I was one of the users that found something interesting since we could get to name it. But the chances are slim for a while, since radio signals travel so slowly and the distances are so great by comparison.

We really do need a faster way to travel to the stars! Light speed is too slow!
