Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) Yes. That depend of the evolution nivel of the ETs. If are some kind of HI TECH culture will be more easy to find, but if are more "nature based" or more "mind" based culture will be hard.
The possible benefits are illimited (from anothers ways to see the universe to better life to us in earth witout diseases etc).
I think one of the potential danger can be the Humans. If still have problem with other people, crime, killers and WAR how espect to be a friend of extraterrestrial?

2) Yes. Information about the Human life in earth. Maybe don´t want to make contact with us after see our lifes.

3) Yes I run in 4 computers (in home and at work)
Is a great project. Maybe must think in another way to find life (optical could be a great chance) becouse I think is very hard to another civilisation to use signal as RF.
