Personal background
I`m originally from beatiful Vancouver, British Columbia but the latino in my blood always keeps me coming back to the equally beautiful Mexico.
It`s in Mexico were I have received my education in Architecture in one of the most important but underrated universities in the Americas, UNAM.
Besides my education I also aquired my obsession for computers and their interaction with the arts.
Another love which only gets stronger with time is books so bookstores or magazine shops are one place you are likely to find me browsing almost all subjets.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think it`s only logical that life exists out there somewhere in this ever expanding universe where every time we seem to get closer to knowing more about its limits it expands outward with each new discovery.
The question seems to be wo will find who or more interesting, when will they let themselves be known.
Since I avidly watched Carl Sagan`s Cosmos series and all sorts of oddball 60´s TV shows on the invading alien theme I was very intrigued when SETI@home came out so as soon as possible it was running in as many computers as possible.
It´s also a pretty good tool to test if a computer I´m assembling is functioning correctly, right now it´s running on an Athlon XP 1600 system and Win2k as a stopgap solution
while I can get my hands on some Barton and Athlon 64 power.
On a more serious note I believe the project has the potential to change the very perception we have of the human race the very moment there is contact.
