| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1: I do think there is some sort of life out there, somewhere. So much space, so many planets & stars... there must be. But, how intelligent? I\\'m not so sure - Perhaps nothing more than Microbes, nothing that could sent any signals for Seti to pick up... perhaps civilizations that span out over many planets and solar systems... who knows, I\\'m sure we\\'ll find out some day, and hopefully in my lifetime.
2: We should definitely transmit data... Because there could be a civilization that is only as advanced as ours, who have something similar to Seti... and who knows... What sort of information should we send out? Well a star map of how to find us for a start, just incase they do have advanced methods of transport, or at the very least help them aim transmissions toward us...
3: To help out... if we find life, and it\\'s found through Seti, I want to be able to say I helped out, in my own small way! |
