Personal background
I am Mom. Mom I am.

My kids love peanut butter sandwiches made with jam.

I can cook and I can clean. I can do most anything.

Mondays start with waking late, ending with "Mom - I hate what's on my plate!"

Tuesday is spent on the go, go, go! Dance is at 4:45, ya know.

Wednesday means I'm halfway done – a joke that applies only to "working" folk.

Thursday's schedule is up for revision - how grateful I am for television!

Friday, time to celebrate! Daddy's home and Mom takes a break.

Saturday and Sunday speed quickly past, why oh why can't the weekend last?

And now my rhyme comes to a close,

The kids are calling, time to go,

But don't you worry, I'll be back,

'Cause SETI@home is where it's at!

Karen Harris a SAHM of 2 beautiful girls - Sara, age 5, and Rebecca, age 2. She's married to Michael and resides in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The majority of her time is spent chasing her girls and taking them to various places like the library, children's museums, parks, malls, and of course, Wal-mart! When Karen has a few moments to herself she likes to check her email, read a book, eat something chocolate or write silly poems. While Karen is not one of the top performers at Seti, she is convinced that if she sticks with it long enough, everyone else will quit and she will have the opportunity to catch up and come out on top! Woohoo!

Celebrating 6 years of Searchin' on July 1, 2005!

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe that extraterrestrial life exists. For me, it all comes down to religious beliefs. I believe in a God who created Man in his own image, and quite frankly, I believe that if there is a God - he's not going to just create one world with life. So yes, they are others out there.

Will we discover it? I do not know. I believe that there is a very good possibly that we will find evidence that life did exist in other places, but as far as actually finding life, I don't know. Sure is fun looking for it though, isn't it?

I started out running SETI because it sounded fun - you know, I'm gonna find ET! But now, it's more of a race against my husband's computer to see who can process more units. Technically, his machine is faster, but my machine processes units faster than his --- at the moment, anyway! But I think this is a worthwhile project and I don't lose anything by helping out, so here I am.
