Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think extraterrestrial life does exist because the odds are very good. When humans will discover it could be very soon because we are just breaking beyond our technological infantcy. However the means it which it will be disovered to me is more probable in the new generation of space telescopes. There is one due to launch in 09 that will be able to see other planets. The radio scanning is a good start but most likely if ET exists and is more advanced then us they would be using a more advanced form of communication. If they are around the same technological state as us its possible to detect them. However there are several things that can stand in our way. Examples are stellar bodies that radio transmission cannot be sent around like stars, large nebluae and other things. Also if there is a signal it could be degraded by any number of things.

I run seti at home because I like to think im actually helping. My veiws about the project are only good and i hope to see it only grow.

Suggestions would be to make a new Seti@home cliet so the user feels more involved. IE. options to acutally hear what we are scanning etc. Also a sky map showing our paticular WU at the time. Just overall a more advanced program.

;) See ya
