Born halfway through last century (ouch) in a coal mining village in the North East of England. Married to Linda, and we have three girls.

I particularly like the U.S.A., and take holidays there whenever i can. Drove Route 66 across the Mohave desert, saw the Grand Canyon, did Vegas, LA, San Francisco. Done all the Orlando theme parks again and again.

I think that intelligent life is possible, maybe even on Earth!

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that in purely statistical terms, the chances are that there are many other planets with life. Logic dictates that some will be ahead of us and some behind us in development. The fact that life can develop at the mouth of volcanos and in the most inhospitable environments supports the view. As that guy on J. Park said "Life will find a way".

Humans should send a beacon. Chances are we wont get a quick reply, but why not? We have already sent info based on maths/geometry etc, suppose thats good enough.

I run SETI as it is an interesting project, and I am pleased to play a small part. The project is a great idea.

I suggest we are given more explanation of that weird screensaver, and details of what we should look for. i.e. what would represent a non-random figure?
