Personal background
Hello, I am a 31 year old from Ontario, Canada just about 35 minutes from Port Huron Michigan, USA and 2.5 hours away from Toronto. I work for Cooper Standard Automotive -- FHS.

When I'm not working, I like spending time with my wife, my dogs, and going camping... oh-yeah and of course playing around with my computer.

I mostly like reading news about music, movies, new scientific developments and camping on the internet.

I was looking for a good screen saver and I found seti@home. I really wanted the matrix code screen saver but I could not find it but this will do great.

Who knows maybe one day I will get me one of them awards for searching 0.00000000000105031736258071143760039747442368% of the sky. I won't quit until I find E.T.!!! Wish me luck!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Are there E.T.'s?

Yes! We would be naive to think that we are alone in this universe. When we could discover it could be tomorrow, could be 1 billion years from now. All I know is we still have a few billion years to go before our sun goes nova, Plenty of time!!! (We are still in our infancy). If we discover E.T.'s, the biggest problem that I see is the possible affects it WILL have on what we have been taught thought history about religion. Thus a breakdown of many social groups currently would take place. Earth's population is currently not ready for such a discovery. I do feel this a great project (S.E.T.I.) however and I do hope for the sake of humanity that the discovery comes later rather then sooner (the current generation in power more than likely couldn't handle it!). If it is handled correctly, it would be a great discovery for the human race, but the way alot of things are handled it wouldn't surprise me that the us government has been talking to aliens since 1947... ( or may be I watch too many movies!).

Beacon??? What was Voyager and Voyager 2 ? In The future they sould send a probe that stores humanities accomplishments over history when more is known about the past and better storage capacity is available in the future. The Voyager probe was oddly enough sent in the 70's and I wouldn't be amazed if what happened on Star Trek The Motion Picture really happens (everthing else from the original series has became reality!).

At first I started running seti@home for a screensaver (as I don't like to turn off my computer). However, after reading all the great fun that one can have with all this site has to offer I now visit the page everyday to read about what news there is in the world of S.E.T.I. I'd like to know too! Is there life on other planets?, worlds?, suns?.... Well, It looks like I can help and find out!
