Profile: Hernán Vilar

Personal background
I´m a psychologist and also a teacher of English as a Second Language. I live in Brazil. I run an English Language web site at www.english.com.br.

I am married with a daughter and a son. I´m 36 years of age. My date of birth is Jan, 26.

I love reading and I have some 4000 books at home.

At the moment I am writing a book. I hope it is published by the end of 2003 or perhaps the beginning of 2004. Two publishers have already accepted the book, so it is all a matter of waiting now.

Cheers!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am sure the Architect of the Worlds created homes for other forms of life. There are many forms of life in this world, so I reckon there can be other forms of intelligent life elsewhere.

Curious thing about life is that life itself is a trip back to ourselves. The more we look outside of us, the more we learn about ourselves.

I believe a contact between human race and another race can be very dangerous for the other race. We would probably dissect them and destroy there spaceships to better investigate it. They would never make back home.

Not to mention the churches and religious leaders worldwide.

We haven´t so far learnt to live together with our own. There is so much intolerance and segregation that, for an intelligent form of life to pay us a visit, is like our visiting those tribes in Africa, the indians in Brazil or the aborigines in Australia.

I think the Seti Project is extremely important an results should be made available for those running Seti@Home more often.
