Born in March of 1976.
Undergraduate degree in computer sciences (2002) from UdeM (Moncton, not Montreal).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes there can be life out there, but I don't think we will have concrete evidence in my lifetime... If there is intelligent life outside our solar system, hopefully they won't be as wasteful as we are of our planet's ressources.
We should be transmit a signal that can be easily recognized, but very simple without details. This signal should just be a broadcast of our existence, but no more. If I know one thing from communications, it's that you announce your presence on the air then wait and listen, then repeat... just like any radio conversation or computer connecting to a network...
I run SETI@home because I feel my PC's idle time is a waste... I think that all PCs should have something as smart as this software running all the time instead of the idle process... I love the way the software runs on my PC.
