Personal background |
I am a 35 year old network engineer working for a major component distributer in Phoenix Arizona. I have worked in IT for approximately 12 years designing, building and maintaining global WANs. I've been an active member of the Planetary Society for a good 20 years and, as a member have been lucky enough to have seen and participated in SETI during its infancy. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Does Extraterrestrial life exist? According to Frank Drake, it has to. As far as how humans will discover it? The possibilities are endless. Thats the beauty of SETI. It's a great stepping stone. Humans have been transmitting radio signals into deep space for years now. It only seems reasonable to listen for a reply.
SETI@home is more of an addiction than anything else. I've had a love for the project since my highschool days. To actively participate in a project as grand as this is beyond my wildest dreams. I'm currently running SETI@home on 4 PCs at home, 1 Linux box and 2 PCs at the office. |
