Personal background
Yo well lemme tell you something about myself. My name as you already know is Cyrus Poonawala. I am 14 years old. Guess what my occupation is? Obviously its a student. My hobbies are playing computer games, reading books, programming, swimming, and watching tv.

I first learnt about SETI in my seventh grade and created a account. But then I changed my email and deleted the one I had used to sign up with SETI so I lost all my results :-( So i created a new account and am rescanning again.

I would really like to go into space. According to a life expectancy calculator made by Microsoft it says I will live upto 86 years old :-) So hopefully by then there will be travels to space which will be as simple as taking an aeroplane.

I am currently developing a website which is about SETI@HOME.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Um...Opinions.

Lemme see I definately think alien life exists because it is a bit hard to below that in a universe this size has only one type of intelligent life. Course there is. But then the hard questions comes along:
"If there is alien life why doesn't SETI detect it?" - There are possibly hundreds of answers to this question but here are some from my thoughts:

1. Aliens must have detected that humans are trying to search for them so they could have developed a new technology to difract the radio waves using the same principles of stealth aircrafts. But why would they do that? Maybe because they don't know much about us so they want to play safe until they have enough information to determine if we are hostile or not.

2. Probably the aliens are living very very very far away at a place where the radio waves cannot reach. But this seems a bit aubsurd because the radio waves can go extremely far and if the aliens don't live in this area then that means that they are living super far away and then it would take them ages to reach earth unless they can go faster than light speed. Hope you understand what I mean :-S.

I think that we should transmit a beacon telling the aliens about human life, what earth is like etc. But I think we should not transmit enough information about us because we do not know whether the aliens are hostile or not. So if they get this information they can easily plan a full scale invasion on earth. So be afraid, be very afraid.

Any finally I run SETI@HOME because I feel the need to contribute to a organisations that is trying to figure out a question that has baffled scientists and caused heated disscusions for years : "Does alien life exist or not"

--- A SENTANCE OF WISDOM: WE ARE NOT ALONE!!! ---
