Personal background
I am a high school teacher in a small learning environment. My students have many different interests and passions. When I approached them about the SETI program, they jumped at the idea and we set up my desktop to work on the data. One of my students is going to do a small presentation to the rest of the school to see who else in interested. We will then probably form a team.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think that extraterrestrial life exists. In fact, I think that it is ridiculous to think that it does not. Odds say we cannot be alone in this huge universe (is 'huge universe' redundant?). I hope we humans eventually discover other life forms, but I think that the possibility is about as great as extraterrestrial life not existing.
