Personal background
It could have been years ago when I started with Star Trek and Star Wars. Watching people fly off into sapce to meet other aliens, who were fantastic as they were "human". Its hard to say how or why I fell into Seti, all I know is that I wish to someday know of we are neighbours or not in the sky. Myself, I am a student at St. Francis Xavier, a Honours Computer Science and Math Major, who spends much of his free time either on his computer, or with his old russian SLR. Its hard to say where I am going in my life, but at least I know I am heading in the direction of the stas.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There is no way way can say there is other life out there. No way we can know at all. While I firmly belive there WILL be more life, I dont know if there is now. FOr all we know, we could be the only ones to arise thusfar. Somehow, that just seems like a total dissapointment as really, were hardly advanced at all. We just need to keep out ears and eyes to the sounds and sight of space untill one day, maybe tomorrow, or maybe a hundred thousnand years later; we discover our younger/older brothers; so far, and so near at the same time.
